Edison lights..you are my fav!

We made this light for our room yesterday! It's gorgeous, stunning, and oh so romantic!  I love it!

Daniel worked really hard to put it all together for us.  He is the best!  I have loved these beautiful bulbs since the moment my eyes saw them.  So happy to have some of our own for our house!  :)

Date to the Bellagio Gardens!

One weekend when we first moved down to Vegas we visited the Bellagio gardens and the chocolate fountain.  It's always fun to visit and see how they have decorated it now.  I love walking in the gardens and it's like you have this huge breath of fresh air!  All the flowers are beautiful and the arrangement of things are stunning.  The chocolate fountain is pretty cool too.  Oh and I think the highlight of our date was this kid ran into a glass window and didn't realize it was glass. It was super funny! Of coarse we felt really bad but it was just one of those funny moments that happens in life.

Our move from Provo to Las Vegas

Both of us were very excited and nervous for our move to Las Vegas!  We were very ready to be headed out from Provo and moving on with our lives.  But it's always hard to say goodbye and leave things and people behind that mean a lot to you.  We are grateful for all the help from old friends, new friends, and my parents!  We are now loving it in Vegas and  really loving the new start for our family!  It's great!  Here are some pictures of our move....

Opposition in all things, right?

Opposition in all things, right?  This gorgeous LDS temple stands in the hills of the Las Vegas valley.  Out in the view you can see the strip.  Both have such different feelings to them!

I love the temple and especially going with Daniel. It just makes things so much more meaningful.

Living the life in Las Vegas!

A weekend in Vegas!  Now I know we live just down the road now, but really anyone who lives in Vegas will tell you they don't visit the Strip often and it's like it doesn't exist unless you go there. Which is the best!  But it's fun to go every once in a while.  The opportunity arose and so we went down for Friday and Saturday.  We had a ton of fun!  It was way too much for my body to handle and we pushed it hard, which i'm now paying for bad, but heck we had to live! Right? ha ha.  Life is hard but there is joy to be found!  So here is our weekend in Vegas!  A little M and M world, pool time, yummy food, and seeing lots of fun buildings!  But the best part, being together and making memories as a family! Love Mr. Roylance to pieces!

Our table and Chairs

Found these old pieces of furniture on KSL.  We even drove all the way out to Heber City to get the table.  I wasn't exactly sure at first what I wanted to do with the table but I knew I wanted it to be a farmhouse style because I adore them!  I spent hours upon hours researching fabrics, coming up with a design, choosing colors, going to the paint stores/home improvement stores, and so forth.  I finally made the decision and got everything picked up and order offline and the project began.  Due to my health we only did things here and there because I don't have the capacity physically to do a lot at a time or during the day really.  So it ended up taking us a good 3 months to finish everything.  Plus the wood was a nightmare.  We had no idea that it wouldn't sand down and then stain.  Nope, instead we had to get wood stripper, sand for at least 20 hours, and stain it about 4 times.  ha ha.  But it made for good memories and times for Daniel and I!  One day I went flower shopping and found the most adorable vases as well!   I love how all the colors are bright and happy! That was really the goal of this project. To brighten up our lives!   We seriously love doing these projects together and it's amazing how they turn out.  It feels so great to stand back and see what you've created. It's one of my all time favorite feelings and things to do!  To create!!!   To finish it all, we primed the chairs and then painted them, made the seat cushions and upholstered them, stained the top of the table/put a protect-ant on top and painted the bottom of the table white! I just love how it all came together!

One day i'd love to become an interior designer/decorator.  I think it'd be amazing and I think I have some talent to back up the idea.  :)

Basketball Game #1

On Saturday I made it to the end of my sweethearts church basketball game!  I love how excited Daniel gets to go play basketball.  It's seriously like a kid in a candy shop every time.  He is a really great athlete and a great team player!  Even though they lost this game, he did fantastic!!!   I love being the cheerleader of an amazing player!  I think we make a pretty good team if I don't say so myself.

Talents

Family Night:Talents

Songs:
Opening: LDS Hymn- "Come let us a new"
Closing: LDS Childrens Song Book- "Shine On"

Scripture:
Doctrine and Covenants 82:3

Lesson:
Doctrine and Covenants 46: 10-26
Matthew 25: 14-30

Tonight we read through these different scripture passages with in the New Testament and the Doctrine and Covenants about talents.  These talents are given from God to help us perform in his behalf to bless the lives of his children.  We discussed how important it is to share the talents we have been blessed with.  To not be selfish and keep them from others.  It tells us that we must share them or they will be taken away.  On the other hand if we use the talents we have been given then we will become better at them, bless others lives, bless the church, and be happier because we are working to make a difference in Gods kingdom.

Activity:

We each took a piece of paper and wrote down all the talents we could think of that God has blessed us individually with.  :)

I loved doing this activity as it allowed the spirit to enter into our hearts and minds.  It really opened my mind personally to know that I have talents, that I am important, and that I can make a difference with God on my side.  We each have talents and are blessed with them so that we can all work together to bring about the work of God.

I know that our Father in Heaven loves us!  That our Savior loves us and works with us daily to become better.  They make our weaknesses become our strengths as long as we do what we are asked to do.  We are all children of God.  We make a difference and we have purpose in His plan.

Finished Dresser!

We are in LOVE with how this turned out! The color is so beautiful and has brought brightness to our room! We picked out these adorable knobs at Lowe's as well and I love the contrast of the bronze/gold color with the rich redish/purple!  What do you think?

I'm sure you are eyeing our adorable Chevron rug right?  Got it for free at Kohls with Kohls cash and $5 of a gift card!  I just adore it!

The in between of the dresser!

The in between of this dresser was quiet the process!  We started it by going to Lowes thinking we can do this remodel with no hassles, ya know, the whole we got this because we watch HGTV everyday kind of attitude! ;) Well after picking our primer and getting our paint 10 minutes before the closed, we headed on home to start our project.

We open up the primer and start giving the dresser some coats with our new fancy brush!  Well... what we didn't realize was that  the primer was oil base and would end up ruining our fancy paint brush, new roller, and get stuck on everything in our home!  So we had a good laugh after hours of figuring out how to get it off Daniel's hands and realizing that it was not going to come out of the brush!  P.S. We tried one of everything including laundry soap to try and get it to clear from the our new little special brush!

We had our fun and learned our lesson that you do not get oil based primer and water based paint! And that just because something is a $1.00 cheaper doesn't mean you should just go with that option! You should probably read about it before hand.  Headed to Sally's Beauty Supply and picked up some pure acetone to get it off the floors! (Did I mention that we picked up the acetone because we had already used all of mine that I use for nails..)   And that Mr. Roylance got down on his hands and knees and scrubbed our floors for over an hour, yeah..he's a good man!

In conclusion, it took around 5 coats of paint on to get it all covered.  And we pretty much totally learned our lesson and had some good times while doing it!

Note to self: Read up on things and don't just go for the cheapest one to save a buck because in the end you may end up spending more than you wanted to for the project!  ;)

Here are some pictures of trying to coat everything over and over and over....Enjoy!
