DRY WINTER SKIN/LIPS:

Have super dry skin this winter and need a little pick me up for your skin?!  Look no further then your kitchen to take that dry skin off!

The best exfoliant I have found is...drum roll please....SUGAR!!!

Now the best time to exfoliate is in the shower!  Take a little bit of sugar in a small baggy or a small container with you in the show and scrub down your bod!

After you have done this, make sure you MOISTURIZE!!  That is the essential key!

Key Reason: Sugar is smooth on the skin and leaves it feeling fresh and clean!  It removes the dead skin and works wonders!

Dry lips: Take a 1/4 teaspoon of sugar and add a drop of water to it, mix it up, and apply to lips.  Then rub it around and rinse.  Apply a nice lip balm or thick moisturizer on your lips! This will leave those lips of yours feeling luscious!

Dry arms, legs, back, feet: Do the shower trick from above! And don't forget to MOISTURIZE!

Dry Hands: Take a 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil and 1/2 tablespoon of sugar and mix it!  Then rub the mixture on your hands for 1 minute!  Rinse with warm water and VOILA you have soft silky hands! Add lotion if you desire, but the secret to this is that olive oil is moisturizing in and of itself!

My suggested moisturizers:

Lips and EXTRA dry places: Aquaphor  (Best stuff EVER)

Hands: Bath and Body Works: Shea Cashmere Hand Creme (Amazing!)

All over body: Any fun lotion!  Right now I like Shea butter or a fun fragrance!

It is beauitful and so so fun for summer!!!

My new favorite product...

Bumble and Bumble: Tonic Lotion

I absolutely love this!  I got it the other day at Sephora (was surprised to see it at Sephora as its normally only sold at Salons).

My Opinion:  It is great if you want to scrunch your hair, curl it to add a little movement or volume to it, dry's hair a little quicker, or leave it straight yet have a good texture to it.  It smells SO good!  Highly recommend to anyone with hair!

  • From the Bumble and Bumble site:
  • A blend of herbs, vitamins & Tea Tree Oil replaces moisture, soothes, detangles, enhances the performance of products and reminds us of old-school barbers' elixirs.
  • Who: Anyone; especially dry, coarse, porous or colored hair.

When: Daily; to detangle and prepare hair for styling; anytime to dampen and reactivate products already in hair; to wet down hair and lubricate the blade while cutting.

How: Spray liberally and evenly on damp hair and work through.
